Munich Oct. 25

I'm not sure whether Jack originally wrote this postcard in German to someone and sent it to her (it's addressed to "Frau"). I think he found or bought the postcard that had already been used and brought it home as a memento. The original German was written in 1940. I can't read or speak German so I'll just post the reverse side of the postcard.

Passau postcard

Written on the postcard (no stamp, no address):

"Passau, Germany
July 22, 1945
P.J. Bridges seen in picture are kaput! Blown by the Nazis themselves. Jack

Passau as we see it from our castle."

Munchen postcard

Postcard was never mailed - no stamp, address or postmark. Could have been collected and brought back from Europe or could have been mailed from Europe.

Back reads:

"Oct. 12 - 45
The American Military Government is set up in the building on the right.
Jack"

Mrs. Napier

The text reads:

"Mrs. Napier - the lady that gave me the little cup and saucer 1909 I have in my shadow shadow box.

1956
Jack pounded on out side of house getting ready to paint & the cup & saucer fell out of the shadow box - broke into a million pieces."
