I'm not sure whether Jack originally wrote this postcard in German to someone and sent it to her (it's addressed to "Frau"). I think he found or bought the postcard that had already been used and brought it home as a memento. The original German was written in 1940. I can't read or speak German so I'll just post the reverse side of the postcard.

"Mrs. Napier - the lady that gave me the little cup and saucer 1909 I have in my shadow shadow box.

Jack pounded on out side of house getting ready to paint & the cup & saucer fell out of the shadow box - broke into a million pieces."
